Oasis of peace and serenity

Noord Brabant

This impressive penthouse is located on the top floor of a residential tower. The spacious living area of this apartment is completely framed by glass. The home therefore offers a fantastic panoramic view from almost every room.

The stylish interior design is by Guy de Vos.

The kitchen and living room are deliberately located on the outside of the apartment, so the panoramic view becomes part of the total living experience.

For the kitchen, realized in collaboration with us, Guy was inspired by, among other things, Japanese culture. The spacious area has high cabinet walls with rich bamboo wood that gives the kitchen a natural look. The several meters long kitchen island consists largely of dark quartzite and is equipped with a unique sushi bar. The two wine refrigerators positioned next to each other enhance the symmetry of the room. Two entrance doors have also been incorporated in the same wall in an almost invisible manner. Quartzite is a strong natural stone with a luxurious appearance. Because the veins continue on all sides, the island appears to be solid. Extra cupboard space has been created on one side. The wood of the sushi bar seems to originate from the solid block. The low positioning of the bar makes it easy to keep in touch with the person cooking while maintaining a view of the city skyline. The level of detail and finishing is extremely high, making every element in this kitchen particularly successful.

To further bring the oriental feeling to life, the cabinet walls are fitted with black handles in a slightly rounded shape. Bamboo window decorations are in front of the spacious glass panels, which lead to an adjoining attractive terrace in the same Japanese atmosphere. The warm
cast floor and the modest color palette enhance the fine, calm image of the kitchen. The end result is as relaxing as it is inspiring!

What is so special about this penthouse project is that there are only two plastered walls in the entire home. Furthermore, natural materials such as stone and an extensive use of wood have created a warm atmosphere.

Guy about the collaboration: “Culimaat made a technical translation based on my design and then realized this in an uncompromising way. We speak the same language and that is very nice. It’s the first time I’ve worked with Culimaat, but we understood each other right away. This definitely leaves you wanting more!”
